Soldiers Kill Terrorists, Foil kidnap of Taraba Worshipers

Nigerian Army soldiers successfully stopped terrorists from kidnapping Christians who were returning from a church event in Taraba State.

Acting on intelligence, the soldiers concealed themselves and waited for the terrorists to make their move before intervening.

The soldiers also recovered advanced weapons from the terrorists. The Nigerian Army shared details of the operation, stating that it was aimed at maintaining peace and security in Taraba State.

The troops from the 6 Brigade Nigerian Army neutralized five violent extremists, thwarted kidnapping attempts, and seized a significant amount of arms and ammunition.

The soldiers, following actionable intelligence about the extremists' plan to kidnap church members, acted swiftly and decisively.

Troops from the 93 Battalion stationed in Wukari engaged the extremists in a gun battle, resulting in the neutralization of four extremists and the recovery of weapons.

It was also reported that Nigerian troops rescued 4,488 hostages across the country between January and December 2023.
