According to the Lagos State Police Command, seven people have drowned this week in various parts of the state. This information was released on Friday.
The lagoon, beaches, and hotel swimming pools were where the fatalities were reported.This was revealed in a statement by Benjamin Hundeyin, the public relations officer for the state police. According to PUNCH Online, a commercial bus crashed on the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos State on Wednesday, sending two passengers plummeting into the lagoon.
In the collision, other car occupants suffered injuries to differing degrees.
The 18-seater bus's driver veered off the road at high speed and struck the bridge rails, according to a statement made by Ibrahim Farinloye, the Lagos Territorial Coordinator of the National Emergency Management Agency.
The victims, an adult male and female, were being searched by the Marine Police, he said, adding that the impact of the crash forced the two passengers from the bus and into the lagoon.
