Plot to Remove Damagum Develops as Atiku Supports Suswam

The rivalry between Atiku Abubakar and Nyesome Wike within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has escalated before the party's 98th National Executive Committee meeting.

A major issue is whether Umar Damagum, the acting National Chairman, should stay or be replaced. Calls have emerged to remove Damagum and appoint a substantive Chairman, particularly from the North Central region.

This tension arises from the suspension of the former National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, and differing opinions within the party regarding leadership.
